Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

College-Level Teacher Training

The East Asian Studies Center offers various teacher training workshops for faculty and graduate students at The Ohio State University and other institutions. Workshop formats and topics vary by year. Training is available for both East Asian language educators as well as East Asian area studies educators. Examples of our programs can be found below:

 

Language Educator Training

For faculty and graduate students who teach Chinese, Japanese, or Korean language at the college level, EASC hosts workshops to train faculty in topics such as pedagogy and assessment. Recent examples include:

Area Studies Educator Training

For faculty and graduate students who teach East Asian area studies at the college level, EASC hosts workshops on a variety of topics, led by faculty or external experts.
