The East Asian Studies Center offers numerous funding opportunities for undergraduate students and graduate and professional school students at The Ohio State University focusing on the study of East Asia. EASC's main source of student support comes in the form of U.S. Department of Education Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowships. Each year, approximately 20 students receive these fellowships for either summer intensive language study or academic year language and area studies. Undergraduate FLAS Fellowships and Graduate and Professional Student FLAS Fellowships are open to students in any department studying East Asia. For further eligibility requirements, see the applications at the links above. In addition to FLAS Fellowships, EASC administers two scholarship programs, the Intensive Chinese Language Scholarship, and the Louise Loh Memorial Scholarship. EASC also compiles information on external funding programs for undergraduate students and graduate and professional school students for the benefit of students.
