Neal Myers will talk about his path taken and lessons learned, including:
  • How did the study of Chinese or China-related programs help him and his career?
  • How would his life and career have been different if he had studied a different or no foreign language?
  • What part of Chinese studies did he find most interesting or challenging?  
  • What advice can he give to someone thinking about going into his career field?
Bio: Neal Myers has an International Studies and Chinese BA from The Ohio State University, as well as a Masters in Foreign Language Education.  He has been a Mandarin Chinese Language teacher for middle and high school students for 7 years, and has taken 5 groups of high school students on educational tours of China.  He has also been and ESL Teacher at Shandong Foreign Trade College in Qingdao, China for 4 years.  He is currently Treasurer for the Ohio Association of Teachers of Chinese (OATC), and was a development member for the CAAP proficiency testing for the State of Ohio.
