Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

About FLAS Fellowships

EASC is seeking applications for fellowships for summer 2021 and academic year 2021-2022 under the U.S. Department of Education's Title VI Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowship program. Fellowships are available for Ohio State graduate and professional school students pursuing a course of study requiring advanced foreign language and area studies training, as well as undergraduate students of junior or senior standing in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) field who have successfully completed two years of East Asian language study at the college level. Subject to approval, FLAS fellowships may also be used for foreign language and area studies at other U.S. or foreign institutions.

Applications will be submitted online and are due by Monday, February 1, 2021, 4:30 p.m. EST. Detailed application instructions can be found at 2021-2022 FLAS Fellowship Information.
