China Event: Ohio Chinese Lantern Festival
From November 17th to January 7th, the Ohio Chinese Lantern Festival--with our Instiute for Chinese Studies as one of the co-sponsors--will return for a second year to the Ohio Expo Center & State Fairgrounds! See the brand new light sculptures, more exciting performances and lots more fun and cultural experience! The Ohio Chinese Lantern Festival will light up the Natural Resources Park with 39 larger-than-life illuminated displays crafted by Chinese artisans. The artisans are from Zigong, Sichuan, China’s cultural capital for the ancient art of lantern-making. In addition to lanterns, nightly performances, and handicrafts, the event includes a variety of Chinese and traditional fair food, as well as assorted beverages. Performance Times (included in admission): Sunday-Thursday: 6:30 PM & 8:00 PMFriday & Saturday: 6:30 PM, 8:00 PM, & 9:00 PMFee for festival admission, parking ($6 cash only) and food vendors.
