Studies on Asia Journal
"Studies on Asia" is a peer-reviewed interdisciplinary journal associated with the Midwest Conference on Asian Affairs, the largest regional conference affiliated with the Association for Asian Studies. "Studies on Asia" has its origin in the Midwest with over a half century-long history.
Studies on Asia welcomes manuscripts on any and all aspects of Asia across time and place in social sciences and humanities, including current and historical issues, pedagogy and original English-language translations. Tzushiu Chiu’s translation of Nobel Prize winner Gao Xingjian’s short play, "Hiding from the Rain/Duoyü" (1981), was published in the Spring 2005 issue of "Studies on Asia."
"Studies on Asia" was on hiatus since 2016, but it was relaunched in 2021 with new editorships and editorial board. May 2022 issue included a new section called Resource Notes. This section examines how various resources and methods might be applied to teaching. June 2023 issue expanded the Book Review section to include works of fiction authored by scholars in the field of Asia.
