Elementary/Middle School Division

First Place:
Daniela Orellana (8th Grade), Columbus North International School

I was in Paris, walking, breathing in the air. It felt nice.
I saw really nice people, met some friends even. I love it here.
Then the bell rang, I put the book back on the book shelf.

Runner Up
Katy Rockhold (4th Grade), Toll Gate Middle School

Two sisters taking a walk,
 on the beach very drowsy,
late at night talking a lot.
Getting lost in the moment.
Suddenly…The tide is RISING.
They ran and ran, soaking wet.

Runner Up
Naomi Wolfer (7th Grade), Olentangy Liberty Middle School

Infectious evil spreading through the world, making breathing hard.
Abolishing lives, souls, spirits, and yet we all will still fight,
for future hope keeps us all moving towards a new beam of light.

High School Division

First Place
Aimee Foltz (12th Grade), Millersport High School

“Stand up for your beliefs”, people say, “Go against the flow”
“Fight for what’s right”, “Be strong, be bold” is what we all are told.
But oh, wait, no, not like that, that is not where we want you to go.

Runner Up
Kendyl Schilling (12th Grade), Millersport High School

May twenty third marks the day we all start over again
Put on our cap and gown, walk across the stage, and never think twice
But I think what now? All I have ever known is this small town

Runner Up
Christian Benedetti (12th Grade), Millersport High School

The film ascends to its climax, reaching the prospect of closure.
Awaiting the grand, cacophonous sense of finality.
But then it cuts to black - hypnotic ambiguity.
