The East Asian Studies Center at The Ohio State University invites applications for the EASC Program Coordinator position through August 18, 2021. Details of the position are as follows:

Job Description
The Program Coordinator supports the East Asian Studies Center (EASC), Institute for Chinese Studies (ICS), Institute for Japanese Studies (IJS), and Institute for Korean Studies (IKS) by assisting in the development and management of academic enrichment programs for faculty and students at OSU and other scholars and community members across the globe. Programs include academic lectures, conferences, workshops, performances, and film screenings. Specific tasks include planning events, coordinating logistics, creating itineraries for speakers, and managing a calendar of programs, which may be hosted in person, online, or in a hybrid format. The Program Coordinator develops and disseminates publicity materials via email, social media, websites, newsletters, and flyers. The position is responsible for managing academic enrichment event reporting, evaluation, and compliance, and assisting in grant reporting and preparation. The Program Coordinator collaborates with other institutions, departments, and scholars and assists in building a community of East Asian studies faculty, staff, and students at Ohio State and with colleagues and scholars in higher education in the US and around the globe. Administrative duties include collaborating with EASC directors and staff on the development of budgets, monitoring of expenses, and initiating payments, reimbursements, purchases, and travel requests.    

Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience in program planning and administration is required. Knowledge of or interest in East Asia required; excellent English writing skills essential. Ability to work independently as well as in cooperation with others.

Desired Qualifications
Master’s degree in an appropriate field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Social media outreach experience and online event planning and facilitation experience.
