Midwestern Professionalization Seminar for East Asian Studies

The East Asian Studies Centers at The Ohio State University and Indiana University Bloomington, and the Center for East Asian Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison are collaborating to launch the “Midwestern Professionalization Seminar for East Asian Studies,” a multi-part series of events in Spring 2022. The series is aimed at developing skills to advance one’s career and introducing various career paths utilizing East Asian language and area studies expertise. Events will be held virtually and are open to students and faculty on all campuses. The series will consist of the following events (registration required):

Wednesday, February 23, 2022, 8:00-9:30 pm EST/ 7:00-8:30 pm CST
Careers in Journalism

Each guest will speak for about 15 minutes about their careers and about how students might get started down a similar path, and will be available to answer some questions.

Careers in Government

Each guest will speak about their careers for approximately 15 minutes, and will offer advice for how students with policy interests might get started down a similar path. They will also be available to answer questions.
