EASC Hosts US-CARNet Scholars

US-CARnet Scholars

The East Asian Studies Center hosted a delegation of scholars from Central Asia, as part of the US-CARNet (US-Central Asia Research Network) project. This project, which is specifically looking at China and its role in Central Asia, is managed by the American Councils for International Education and is funded by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. Six scholars engaged with The Ohio State University faculty, learned about area studies centers, toured the university, and heard presentations on library holdings related to Central Asia and East Asia. Prior to coming to campus, the delegation spent two weeks in Washington, DC and visited the University of Pittsburgh. Each of the scholars will also return to the U.S. for the spring 2025 semester with Ohio State to host one scholar.
