Buckeye East Asian Linguistics 9 (BEAL 9) is published!

We are delighted to announce that the 9th volume of Buckeye East Asian Linguistics is now published, with papers from the 27th International Conference on Yue Dialects in 2023. Included in the volume are the Preface from the two editors, PhD Candidate Paul Ueda and Professor Marjorie K.M. Chan, and conference convener, retired Jinan University Professor Bohui Zhan’s welcoming remarks (in Chinese with English translation by Savanna Eggens), followed by twelve proceedings articles. 

The conference was hosted via Zoom by The Ohio State University on November 30 to December 2, 2023. This is the first time that this conference was hosted overseas and not in China or its two special administrative regions, Hong Kong and Macau. Presentations at this conference continued its international stature with presenters from China (including Hong Kong), the United States, Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Germany, and Italy.
