Julia Keblinska is assistant professor of Asian cinema in Film and Screen Studies at the University of Cambridge. She received her PhD in Chinese from the University of California, Berkeley. She spent the first several years of her academic career in various positions at Ohio State, where she worked closely with the staff of IEAS to develop the film guides that we will be discussing today. While at OSU, Julia also came to work on the Chinese Theater Collaborative, a digital project about classical Chinese theater that she will also introduce (very) briefly at the end of her talk as it is also a pedagogical resource intended to help incorporate teaching on East Asian media into the classroom.
