The film is in Korean with English subtitles.Tickets are free when you present your BuckID starting at 6:30 p.m. The first 30 students receive free popcorn and a drink at concessions.This event is co-sponsored by the East Asian Studies Center. Julia Keblinska, lecturer at the East Asian Studies Center, will give remarks about the film beforehand.About the film"Memories of Murder" originally premiered at the San Sebastián Film Festival where Bong Joon Ho won Best Director.In 1986 Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, after two women are found raped and murdered, Seoul detective Seo Tae-yoon is brought in to help local detective Park Doo-man with the investigation. As more bodies are found, the pair realize they have a serial killer on their hands.Inspired by true events, Bong Joon Ho’s sophomore feature blends true crime with social satire and even comedy in his typically masterful fashion.
