China Studies Graduate Workshop Call for Participation

Workshop Details: The Ohio State University Institute for Chinese Studies and Indiana University’s East Asian Studies Center invite applications from Master’s and PhD students based at either university whose work is based in Chinese studies, broadly conceived, to take part in a two-day paper improvement workshop to be held at Ohio State. Applicants working in all Humanities and Social Science disciplines and across historical time periods are invited to apply. Up to four students from each institution will be invited to circulate drafts of theses, papers, or dissertation chapters at advanced stages of completion no less than one month in advance of the workshop. Workshop participants will be divided into small groups for intensive feedback sessions moderated by OSU and IU faculty. Participating students will be expected to read up to four papers and deliver brief written feedback for each. Travel and accommodation costs will be fully covered.

How to Apply: Applications must be submitted by November 21, 2025. Applicants will be notified of decisions by November 30, 2025.
