This study abroad program investigates the art of Japan, with a specific emphasis on art and architecture from the 14th century to the present in Tokyo and Kyoto. Students will spend a week in May on campus doing preparatory coursework, reading and research, and will then travel to Japan for two weeks of intensive study, including seeing artworks, temples, and shrines firsthand.
