The Graduate Students of East Asian Languages and Literatures (GREALL) and Folklore Student Association (FSA) will be holding a silent auction fundraising event at 3-5pm, Friday, March 29, 2013, at 386 Hagerty Hall, 1775 College Road, Columbus, OH 43210-1340. 

This campaign aims at raising funds for villagers whose lives have been impacted by the disastrous flood in Yangxie village, Hongtong County, Shanxi Province, China. All of the funds raised from this event will be used to support villagers’ reconstruction work in the village.

The gala includes a silent auction and entertainment. In order to make the silent auction a success, they are asking for your assistance with donations. Often the most sought after items are things that only you can provide because of a special talent or relationship. Examples of these might include (but are not limited to):

Faculty Fun: • Outings and exploration, story time or tea with teachers
Travel: • Vacation homes in Sonoma, Tahoe, Montana, NYC, Tuscany, frequent flyer miles, hotel points or stays, resorts, spas, getaway packages
Dinners/Food: • Catered dinner parties, parent-created special events such as a beach bash or cocktail party, a gourmet picnic basket, custom-baked cake, cooking lessons, beer or wine tasting
Lessons/Crafts: • Works of art, custom needlecraft or lessons, floral arrangements, music lessons, one-on-one soccer coaching, picture framing, portrait painting or sketches
Professional Services: • Financial, architectural, landscape, design, medical, legal, massage, home repair, computer service/repair, babysitting
Sports/Cultural Event Tickets:• Your season tickets to cultural performances or sporting events
Fantasy/Luxury Items:• Celebrity-related items, backstage passes, being cast as a movie extra, private tours of zoos, museums or private art collections, training camp packages, a car lease
