Karen Mancl (professor, food, agricultural and biological engineering) recently published a new article on Chinese farming practices that help to capture the greenhouse gas methane and utilize it as a source of fuel. Not only does this practice keep methane out of the atmosphere, it also results in a reduced reliance on wood, straw, and coal. This improves indoor air quality, and produces better health outcomes for women.
