The Association for Asian Studies in conjunction with the Social Sciences Research Council will be hosting a dissertation workshop, titled “Family, Gender and Generation,” scheduled for March 18-21, 2013 in San Diego, immediately prior to the AAS annual conference. The workshop is supported through funding from the Luce Foundation, and will be organized and led by David Szanton following the same basic model used in previous AAS workshops. The application deadline is January 4, 2013. All AAS members are asked to encourage their graduate students to attend this event, and to consider serving as faculty participants if research interests correlate with the workshop theme.
