Online seminar presented by the East Asian Studies Center:
The Journey of East Asia: Adventures through Stories, Games, and Maps
Build or enhance your tool chest to teach about East Asia through this free, introductory seminar that will examine the major trends, global issues, and historic foundations that shape East Asian society through a STEAM lens. Focusing on the regions that comprise present day China, Japan, and Korea, participants will engage with experts and other educators in the field to gain the knowledge and resources to incorporate East Asia in the classroom.
July 12 - 23, 2021 (Monday - Friday)
Lead Instructor: Professor Ann Marie Davis, The Ohio State University
36 hour virtual seminar includes (all EST):
Orientation session on June 9, 2021 (evening, online)
July 12-16 and July 19-23, 2021: daily 1:00pm - 4:00pm (EST) Online
Synchronous and Asynchronous sessions designed to optimize time together
Benefits: $200 stipend, $300 teaching materials, 36 contact hours
Graduate credit: 2.0 hours graduate credit option available (extra fee)
Follow up session in Sept/Oct 2021 (Saturday, Online)
