Sunday Night Plenary Event: “WELCOME TO DONGMAKGOL” Reception and film screening

**THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED**

The Institute for Korean Studies is honored to invite everyone to a screening of Jin Jang’s award-winning film, Welcome to Dongmakgol, a heart-warming story of North and South Korean soldiers (and one American), stranded together in a remote village in the early days of the Korean War. When the actions of the stranded troops threaten the survival of the village, soldiers from both North and South work together to save the inhabitants who welcomed them. Released in 2005, Welcome to Dongmakgol (웰컴 투 동막골) is based on Jin Jang's successful play of the same name.

The event will be held in the Wexner Center for the Arts, and will begin at 6:00 PM with a Korean food reception. The film will begin at 6:45, and a Q+A with Jin Jang will follow. Everyone is welcome to attend. This event is organized by the Institute for Korean Studies, with support from the Korea Foundation, the East Asian Studies Center, and the Wexner Center for the Arts.
