Developing "digital infrastructure" enabling better decision making is the core component of the smart city implementation. In this talk, the presenter will introduce the concept of the smart city, predictive management strategy for smart city operation, and research efforts using AI-combined technologies. The concept of Korean smart cities, digital infrastructure platforms, pilot projects and service planning, and current status of development will also be introduced.  Hwasoo Yeo received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Seoul National University (1996), and M.S. (2004) and Ph.D. (2008) degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, majoring in Transportation Engineering under the supervision of Professor Alexander Skabardonis. From July 2009, he joined KAIST as an Assistant Professor, and promoted to Associate Professor in 2014, and full Professor in 2021. He has been working on the faculty of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at KAIST since 2009.
