But the world language classroom can support students in unique and unexpected ways! In this workshop we will explore how language learning can develop communication skills and self-confidence to build learners’ resilience and support their mental health.  Participants will acquire strategies to help learners lower their affective barriers and develop healthy relationships. Presenter: Elena Kamenetzky Elena Kamenetzky-sensei is a Japanese teacher at Eastern High School in Louisville, KY. She is a recipient of the 2021 ACTFL National Language Teacher of the Year and the 2020 SCOLT (Southern Conference of Language Teaching) Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award.
