The East Asian Studies Center presents a professional development opportunity:
"Why People Spy:" A Meeting with CIA Recruiters
Abstract: WHY PEOPLE SPY is a presentation, rich in audience participation, that combines real life examples of espionage, a fair amount of social science and multiple opportunities for audience contributions, to understand what motivates "spies" to operate across cultures and around the world. The presentation also debunks the popular culture/movie image of what a "spy" really is and how they operate. Finally, it describes the kinds of careers within the Agency’s Directorate of Operations and the skills and experiences we look for in those interested in pursuing this unique profession. CIA officials and recruiters will be on hand to answer questions and discuss intelligence careers with interested students.
