Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad (DDRA) competition announced

The U.S. Department of Education has announced the 2013 Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad (DDRA) grant competition. The application deadline is June 3, 2013. Approximately $3,036,237 is available for an estimated 86 fellowship awards.

The Federal Register notice indicates, "As part of its 2013 budget request, the Administration proposed to continue to allow funds to be used to support the applications of individuals who plan both to utilize their language skills in world areas vital to United States national security and to apply their language skills and knowledge of these countries in the fields of government, international development, and the professions. Therefore, students planning to apply their language skills in such fields and those planning teaching careers are eligible to apply for this program."
