EALL hosts 35th annual LangFest

EALL LangFest

For four hours on Friday April 22, the Department of East Asian Languages & Literatures (DEALL) hosted its 35th annual LangFest, the now-famous variety show in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.  Students performed skits, songs, speeches, and dances with simultaneous English display, before and after the Big DEALL Interpretation Shootout, in which student interpreters from Level 1 courses of each language competed in mediating a conversation between two monolingual speakers of different East Asian languages, from the OSU community. Arts & Humanities Dean Peter Hahn announced the Shootout winners: two teams from the Korean program and one from the Chinese program. DEALL Language Director Charles Quinn emceed the event, which concluded with DEALL Chair Mark Bender announcing the 2016 student awards. A pizza and pop buffet followed.
