IJS Event: Japanese Language Speech Contest Finals
The Institute for Japanese Studies, Japan-America Society of Central Ohio (JASCO) and the Japanese Student Organization (JSO) are pleased to announce the finals for the 15th Annual Japanese Speech Contest will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Dublin City Hall in Dulbin, OH (5200 Emerald Parkway, Dublin, OH 43017). Ten finalist from high schools and ten from universities from across the state will perform their speeches in front of our four esteemed judges as well an audience of friends, family, and peers. Come and see the next generation of Japanese language learners! Finalists will be judged based on speech content, language ability, delivery, and memorization and maintaining the time limit. University finalists will be in the morning at 10am and high school finalists will be in the afternoon at 1:30pm. The contest is also sponsored by Central Ohio Japanese Association of Commerce (COJAC), the Consulate General of Japan in Detroit, and the Japan Foundation (Los Angeles) and the Institute for Japanese Studies.
